This manual contains instructions on how to use the William and Mary Software Engineering traffic simulator.
To start a simulation, simply click the Start button on the toolbar or select the "New Simulation" option under the "Simulator" menu.
A user may pause the simulation, step through it, change the zoom and speed, or change the properties of road segments or sources and sinks of vehicles.
To pause the simulation, simply click the Pause button on the toolbar.
Once the simulation is paused, a user may increment the simulation one step by pressing the Step button. To resume the simulation, click the Resume button.
The toolbar can moved around the simulation window or to a seperate window by clicking and dragging the handle and dropping where desired.
Zoom and speed are also changed on the toolbar by dragging the zoom slider and speed slider, respectively.
To change the properties of a road segment or a source or sink of vehicles, click on a road segment or source or sink. The simulation will pause and the Change Properties window will appear, enabling the user to manipulate the clicked object's properties (such as speed limit and inflow of vehicles).

To view the boundaries between road segments, select "Hide/Show Vertical Lines" from the View menu.
To view the Statistics window, either drag the vertical bar that is located on the leftmost part of the screen or click the expand arrow (pointing right) which is located on the top of the bar. The Vehicle Information window and the Map Information window will be shown.
To get a vehicle's statistics, click on the vehicle. The simulation will pause and the statistics will be shown in the Vehicle Information window. Other vehicles may clicked after the simulation has paused.
To get a road segments's statistics, click on the road segment. The simulation will pause and the statistics will be shown in the Map Information window. Other road segments may clicked after the simulation has paused.
Carpool Tunnel can be exited from the "Exit" option under the "Simulator" menu. To save a simulation before exiting, select "Save Simulation" under the same menu.
