Project Assignments

Project assignments are on individual topics related to weighted automata. Students work on individual topics that across all participants will result in an overall software module that supports modeling and analysis of discrete event systems with the help of weighted automata.

• For the overall software design, a 3 layer architecture as in Mobius may be useful. The top-layer are modeling formalisms and their composers that implement the Model-level Abstract Functional Interface (AFI), see [1]. The middle-layer are analysis techniques that apply to the model-level AFI like a discrete event simulator or a state space exploration algorithm. A state space exploration algorithm performs a transformation of a model level representation into a discrete event dynamic system representation that implements the State-level AFI, see [13].
