Mechanics
- Programming assignments will be posted to
the course's web pages.
- Deadlines for programs are normally
at least 1 week after they are assigned.
- Programming assignments and labs will be collected via
submit.
- Programming assignments will be checked electronically for
illegal collaboration.
- Graded programming assignments will be returned electronically via
email.
- Requests for regrades must be filed no more than 48 hours after a
graded assignment/test is discussed in class;
if classes are over, then
72 hours after the graded assignments are mailed.
Such requests must:
- Be filed in writing.
- You must appeal to the grader first for work
product grader by the grader.
- Refer clearly to the potion of the originally
graded work being disputed.
- Describe clearly the problem with the grading;
"it worked
for me when I ran it" and similar explanations are
inadequate.
- Penalties for homework and programs will be imposed at the rate of
10% per day.
After a homework or program is returned to the class,
the penalty becomes 100%.
- Nothing may be submitted for grading after the last day of
classes without prior approval.
Policies
Grades are never curved downward. A grade of 90% guarantees a
student an A-, an 80% a B-, etc. The instructor reserves the right to
curve grades upward, usually to avoid regrading an assignment by
adding disputed points to the curve.
A limited number of plus/minus grades will be awarded.
