My basic inclination is to side with the grader's judgment on the assignment of points. That said, both graders and I have been known to make mistakes on occasion. If you genuinely believe that you lost points due to an error on our part, please bring any such error to my attention and I will submit your assignment for a regrading.
If we regrade an assignment at your request, we reserve the right to deduct more points on the second round of grading. If, during our investigation, we discover that on the first round of grading errors were overlooked, and thus no points were deducted for those errors, we may choose to deduct points for the newly discovered errors.
The regrading of a homework assignment is subject to the following two rules:
Your request for the regrading of an assignment must be made within five days of the day on which the graded assignment was returned. No exceptions will be made. There are so many assignments throughout the semester that we need to address any possible errors while the grading is still fresh in our minds.
Your request for the regrading of an assignment must include a brief written description of the problem you wish us to reconsider and why. I review any requests before handing them back to the grader. Since my memory is unreliable, I require a written reminder for both me and the grader.
Both your solution for the assignment and your written description of the error must be given to me.
