Dr. Tianran Hu is Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the College of William & Mary. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester in 2019. His research spans various topics in Data Mining and Computational Social Sciences including Online Community, Human Mobility in Cyberspace, Computer Mediated Communication, etc. He currently focuses on using data driven approaches to model, analyse and understand the human activities in virtual space such as online social structures, the interactions between members and communities, and virtual social norms and roles. He also has broad interests in Social Media, Multi-Media, Data Mining and Machine Learning.
